- A
garden park is an ancient form of garden still found today in Europe, the Orient and in the history of America's founding
fathers, who were gentlemen farmers as well as great statesmen.. Garden parks are always beautiful, practical and productive.
They are primarily on 1/2 to 5 acre plots. Many special characteristics distinguish a garden park from a farm. Perennial flower
beds border the vegetable beds with an artistic flair. There are arbors, lawns, benches and statuary for pure enjoyment.
A garden park could be equipped to host a special event with open space and gracious seating. This lovely garden's perennial
beds have many tall classical flowers and shrubs that can be propagated around the community for decades to come. Once the garden is established,
maintenance
becomes fairly easy as all the ground surfaces are covered with wood chips, straw, cover crops, vegetable beds and seeded flowers.
A garden park can be created and maintained by a church, school or as a community project, or is a wonderful addition to any
home. We use biodynamic processes that support sustainablity. Garden parks preserve knowledge and skills that are rapidly disappearing
from our culture today. We would love to design a special one for you. Email Greg at glp@thegrid.net.
